Uruguayan company, leader in the transactional market of payments, was facing the challenges of the digital economy, which demands the incorporation of new business partners and agents on a constant basis. We carried out a consultancy that resulted in the development of B2B systems, among other long-term projects.

INITIAL SITUATION
The project began in 2013 through a consultancy. We took on this task and quickly carried out a diagnosis that allowed us to help our client identify the best practices and lines of work to follow when executing Business to Business projects.

When a person performs a transaction at an agent office, the employee who attends him needs to access the transaction platform and, from there, enter the system of the company or institution related to the payment or collection he wishes to make. To do this, both systems must be integrated. These connections are known as B2B, an acronym for “business to business”.

THE SOLUTION
We develop B2B systems, which allow integrating business partners to the transactional core of the company.

Based on Java technology, these systems materialize and streamline business-to-business transactions, increase day-to-day volume and expand our client’s business.

Today, the company’s transactional core includes more than 1,700 business partners, including financial institutions, tax, real estate, telephone services and public utilities.

 

COMMISSION SYSTEM
In parallel to the initial project, and with an increasingly stronger relationship with our client, we proposed the need to provide new functionalities to the commissions system they were managing. In this way, we obtained greater agility to accompany the new business requirements.

We got deeply involved with the system they were using at that time and managed to optimize the process by means of a generic solution with new options to calculate the commissions charged to their business partners for the services rendered. We also made improvements in the performance of the system that reduced from 24 to 4 hours the time needed to calculate the monthly invoicing.

NEW PROJECTS
At the beginning of 2017, the business area entrusted us with a new project: developing solutions for the colectivos system.

Traditionally, collectives function as a simple mechanism to raise funds for different purposes, whether it is a donation or a celebration. When starting a collective, the interested party opens an account that allows anyone to deposit money into it. When the account is closed, the accumulated amount is withdrawn in cash.

The company’s goal was to add a new modality that allows the customer to issue a voucher for a certain amount and redeem it for products or services at participating stores. This modality implies new technological requirements that must take into account the issuance and redemption of vouchers, as well as the integration of the new business in the company’s accounting systems.
